The Standard Configuration

In each case, the +X-axis is oriented towards the right of the JCMT building and the +Y-axis towards the front. The output voltage increases (becomes more positive) as the +ve axis tips down w.r.t. the -ve axis. A DGH A-D converter is not yet available for channel 3.

Calibration measures were made for the all the inclinometer axes by placing them on the TMU mount, orienting the axis to be calibrated perpendicular to the elevation axis, and tipping the antenna under computer control. These measures were done over ranges of only a few arcseconds, and, although the scales (mV/") are determined accurate to better than 1, they ought to be redetermined over larger ranges to avoid limits set by the resolution of the elevation encoder. The calibration results are presented later.

The inclinometers were returned to the configuration shown above for the measures of September 1994.
