In preparation for the first part of the Azimuth Track Improvement Project engineering in October 1995, the `spare' inclinometer was mounted on the radial arm from the central bearing to the rear left wheel (number 3) and inclinometry measurements made over a limited azimuth range, specifically covering the two joints, 4/5 & 6/7, which were to be de-grouted and, in the case of 4/5, welded together. Analysis of this data will be reported later, but for the moment we note that the steps and their sizes and the dynamic performance of the ends of the track segments are clearly defined and are as described above.
