SCUBA sensitivity calibration

SCUBA sensitivity calibration

  • Primary calibrators

    - A brief note describing how to get the fluxes for the primary calibrators Mars, Uranus and Neptune, including a link to an online calculator.
  • Secondary calibrators

    - A discussion of available calibrators, suggested usage as well as fluxes.
  • Sensitivities

    - Measuring SCUBA's sensitivity: typical values plus instructions for calculating NEFDs.
  • Flux conversion factors (FCFs)

    - Suggested FCFs for SCUBA, updated approximately monthly - these be used to cross-check that your own, more precise, measurements are plausible. Beware of the large errors on some measurements though, and of possible elevation and temperature dependencies which may create systematic differences.
  • Chop throw - sensitivity relations

    - Need to calibrate data using values obtained with another chop throw? Here's how to make the conversion.
  • Noise plots

    - showing each bolometer in the array.
