Non-standard Configurations

Non-standard DAS configurations and instrument configuration files
are now available. We have set up and tested
several of them. However, new ones that are not included
in this list will need to be set up and tested in advance.
Non-standard DAS setups are invoked by specifying an Instrument Configuration
File name. At the bandwidth prompt when loading the DAS as the Backend,
choose FILE and then the name of
the required file (normally this will have a name beginning NS..).
This text file contains several items, the most important of which is
the DAS configuration number. This number determines the Hardware
settings (internal local oscillators, and correlator interconnections, etc).
The file also contains the centre IF frequencies of the different subbands,
the smoothing (weighting) of the FFT, options for 1 or 2-bit correlation,
the input IF channel, the rms (sigma) for ACF bad channel correction and other
settings.
