20001125 report

Inclinometry - new model installed

The new data again show a TCS-related problem - this time the recorded azimuths are -0.01 degrees different from the demanded azimuths. However, little has changed in the track profile and the track model has been updated.

Datasets HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                   start start middle end %
 ( 20001114 cw 20:13 3.8 3.5 3.2 70 )
   20001125 cw 11:55 2.4 3.6 4.8 25

The azimuths were all incremented by 0.01 degrees without significant loss of accuracy. The difference then between the latest model and the previous one is shown below :

  • There are 3 1-3" spikes in the new data at approximate azimuths 30,60,140, but no effort has been made to correct any contribution from the new data.

  • The formal differences in (F1,F2,F3) are described by the rms scatters of (0.30", 0.21", 0.34") cf (0.50", 0.49", 0.66") previously.

  • Installation of the new track model occurred at 14:00 HST 27 Nov 2000.

  • The symmetry is fine - see the plot.

  • The ripple from the right A-frame continues to evolve - see the plot.
