Inclinometer Settling times - revisited

The recent strange inclinometry data emantaing from the 'tiltable' TMU device prompted an examination of the settling behaviour of the 'tiltable' and 'fixed' TMU inclinometers. Voltage outputs from the 6 tilt channels from each device were recorded for the best part of an hour afetr the antenna was moved into position as if to start regular inclinometery runs.

The data are displayed below after coarse correction of zero-points, with each measurement taking one second, the x-axis is time, reaching several tens of minutes. The 'fixed' inclinometer data are on the left, and the millivolts scale on the y-axis has 20mV = 1 arcsec :

After the expected 10-15 minutes of settling (600-1000 units in x), all channels have settled to within an arcsec of their values 20-30mins later, so could considered to have 'settled' satisfactorily. Further changes may be due to thermal effects.

There is no qualitative difference in this regard between the two devices.
