20020525 report

Inclinometry update

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20020514a 90 cw 14:43 4.5 5.0 5.4 100
    20020517 90 cw 06:59 0.6 1.4 2.5 75 )
    20020525 90 cw 06:20 2.0 2.6 3.5 60
    20020531 90 cw 04:11 0.8 0.8 1.1 70

The temperature data from the fixed TMU inclinometer are OK so both new datasets were processed into track models in the conventional way. The model resulting from the data of the 25th is compared with the models from the 14th and 17th :

while the data frm the 31st is compared with that from the 25th here :

  • The first plot shows structures above that of pure noise - similar to the change seen last time, whereas both new datasets are essentially similar to those of the 17th.

  • A couple of electronic (?) spikes affect the data of the 31st, but have not been removed prior to any of the analysis below.

  • The formal differences in (F1,F2,F3) in each of these plots are described by the rms scatters of (0.70", 0.54", 0.58") and (0.23", 0.30", 0.35"), (0.25", 0.40", 0.38") respectively cf (0.26", 0.08", 0.19") previously.

  • Updates have been made to the plots of symmetry and strain gauge data, but all looks unchanged by these gauges.

  • A new model was installed at ~14:00 HST on 25 May 2002. No model update seemed necessary following the run on the 31st.

NB : The antenna was rebalanced on May 22.
