20020801 report

Inclinometry following July shutdown is OK

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20020525 90 cw 06:20 2.0 2.6 3.5 60 )
    20020801 90 cw 17:00 9.1 9.9 10.0 40

The temperature data from the fixed TMU inclinometer are no good - the first time these data have not been useful since 24 April, so the new data were processed into track models without using the temperature correction algorithms. The model resulting is compared with the previous model below :

  • The plot shows that the track model has essentially not changed as a result of the July engineering.

  • The formal differences in (F1,F2,F3) in each of these plots are described by the rms scatters of (0.39", 0.59", 0.74").

  • Updates have been made to the plots of symmetry and strain gauge data, but all looks unchanged by these gauges.

  • A new model was installed at ~11:00 HST on 02 Aug 2002. A SCUBA observation during the heat of the afternoon of irc+10216 yielded offsets of (-5",-18") from the model, so the pointing model may not be too far off either.
