20030601 report

CW & CCW Inclinometry, OK

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20030528 90 cw 16:34 11.5 12.0 12.1 35 )
    20030601 90 cw 09:07 2.8 3.9 5.8 75
    20030601 90 ccw 18:50 7.6 7.3 6.8 65

All data channels were OK. The resulting CW model is compared with previous CW model -- the one taken on May 28 below :

  • The data show small-amplitude structure on spatial scales corresponding to the track segments - maybe a temperature effect.
  • The differences in (F1,F2,F3) for the CW models are described by the rms scatters of (0.49", 0.27", 0.53") c.f. (0.57", 0.53", 0.49") previously.

The new (CW) model was merged with the recent (CW-CCW) average to create a new hybrid track model, which was installed at noon on 01 June 2003.

  • Updates have been made to the plots of symmetry (which looks OK still) and strain gauge data, which shows a large fall in wheel loads which will need monitoring.

The CW and CCW data are compared below:

The CW-CCW difference compares well with previous such results and the new data are averaged with 4 previous CW-CCW datasets from 2002 & 2003 to provide a CW-CCW template for use in the creation of hybrid models.
