20040110 report

CW Inclinometry shows +2" changes

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
 ( 20031215 90 cw 15:50 4.4 4.8 4.6 15 )
    20040110 90 cw 11:46 1.3 2.3 3.0 20

All data channels of the inclinometry data look OK. The resulting model is compared below with that taken immediately after the CBLA on 15 Dec :

  • The result shows fairly substantial changes and one wonders whether this condition has pertained since shortly after the CBLA on 15 December, or whether something has occurred more recently. That's the problem with such a long gap between runs ! Another CW run should be done soon to establish any continuing change. On the bright side, the pointing recently has been superb (see the report of 08 Jan) so it's unlikely that this change in model has or will have any large negative impact.
  • The differences in (F1,F2,F3) between these two CW models are described by the rms scatters of (0.80", 0.80", 0.93") cf. (0.83", 0.46", 0.51") previously.
  • The new CW model was merged with the new (CW-CCW) template to create a new hybrid track model, which was installed at HST 10:00 on 12 Jan 2004.
  • Records of the symmetry and strain gauge data have been updated.
