20040802 report

CW Inclinometry OK-ish - track model not updated.

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20040718 90 cw 10:10 - - - -- )
    20040802 90 cw 17:50 9.4 9.3 9.2 95
    20040803 90 ccw 02:19 7.3 7.0 6.7 95

All data channels of the inclinometry data look OK, except for Ch1 in the first datset which didn't 'kick in' for the first few minutes. (Indeed all data may be suspect in that period). The resulting new CW model is compared below with the current one - that taken on 18 Jul :

  • The startup error is clear, but otherwise the track seems unchanged. The patch of F1-structure seen last time is again seen at the same amplitude, but essentially inverted. Whatever caused this in the last dataset does not similarly affect this one.
  • The differences in (F1,F2,F3) between these two CW models are described by the rms scatters of (0.40", 1.30", 0.24") cf (0.52", 0.17", 0.26") previously.
  • The track model has not been updated (because of the startup problems).
  • The CW-CCW difference is shown below :

The data appear similar to other CW-CCW datasets (such as the most recent pair on 12-15 May 2004, but are not used to update the CW-CCW template used in generating the hybrid model.

  • Records of the symmetry and strain gauge data have been updated; all looks fine.
