20041006 report
Elevation pointing - coding error discovered
The parameter TEMP_MEAN_SLOPE was not actually being
multiplied by the mean temperature of the antenna when the
elevation pointing corrections were being calculated.
The code (thi_pointing.c) has been corrected and the value
of TEMP_MEAN_SLOPE has been set to -1.0"/deg in THI.tide
(value from recent data, and guessing at the sign convention).
We shall re-establish its value from subsequent data.
20041007
Inevitably, the sign was wrong : TEMP_MEAN_SLOPE now +1.0"/deg,
and THI.tide suitably annotated.
20041008
Data from UT20041008 look free of thermal systematics,
although monitoring and tweaking will continue as needed.
Collimation offsets resulted however (which are rather cosmetic)
and the model IE value and the collimations for RxA & RxB
have been tweaked today.
