20041129 report

Further CW Inclinometry

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20041106 90 cw 00:40 5.9 5.5 5.2 85 )
    20041114 90 cw 11:08 5.5 6.7 7.5 55
    20041115 90 cw 00:47 7.7 7.4 7.0 100
    20041127 90 cw 10:28 4.5 5.5 6.5 50

As Ed reported, the TX channel in the data of 20041114 reported zeroes throughout - and so the data is of no further use. Inspection of the other datasets shows all data channels working OK. The data were not assessed until 20041129, so the 20041115-20041106 data difference is displayed below (left) only for the purpose of revealing that little change was seen in the track between those two dates. The same is true of the 20041127-20041106 data difference, below-right.

  • The differences in (F1,F2,F3) in the latter case are described by rms scatters of (0.37", 0.25", 0.62") c.f. (0.65", 0.29", 0.83") previously.
  • The new CW model was merged with the (CW-CCW) template to create a new hybrid track model, which was installed at HST 13:20 on 29 November 2004.
  • Records of the symmetry have been updated, and show no recurrence of the large asymmetry seen last time. The strain gauge data from gauge 1 were not recorded sensibly again, but the data from gauge 2 suggest no change in wheel loading.
