20050403 report

CW Inclinometry of 20050403 OK

Reports for 2005                     Pointing Home Page

Inclinometry was done as follows :

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20050319 90 cw 01:21 3.9 3.9 3.9 44 )
    20050403 90 cw 09:47 4.1 5.2 6.2 17

All inclinometry and temperature data channels look; Ch13 - the #1 strain gauge - is still not functional.

The difference between the CW model resulting from these new data and the previous one of 19 Mar is shown below:

  • There are 3 obvious 'spikes' in the new data at azimuths 285.09, 321.89 and 345.89 : they originate essentially from the LY channel in each case, although there is a 1" contribution from RY in the first/largest one. The azimuths of the two smaller events are close to track joints, but that of the largest one is not. The LY contributions have been interpolated out before the model was installed.
  • The differences in (F1,F2,F3) are then described by rms scatters of (0.31", 0.15", 0.33") c.f. (0.45", 0.17", 0.34") previously.

  • The new CW model was merged with the (CW-CCW) template to create a new hybrid track model, which was installed at HST 09:00 on 04 April 2005.
  • The symmetry (defined here) remains elevated, but stable. The wheel loads - as judged from strain gauge No.2 only - are OK.
