20050627 report

Pointing w/RxA shows current (SCUBA-based) model OK

Pointing
The plot below shows the pointing data for the nights of UT20050625, 26, 27 & 28, taken with RxA:

The 83 logged data show that the current (SCUBA_derived) model is eminently appropriate for use with RxA, inasmuch as there are no systematic errors to be seen. This is particularly true in azimuth, where the rms of the residuals is 1.4"; elevation residuals are more vulnerable to atmospheric (refraction) noise.

This is in contrast to the combined heterodyne results of previous months - see for instance the analysis for May - in which systematic trends in the larger datasets imply a need for a purely heterodyne model, distinct ffrom the SCUBA one. It is to be seen what an analysis of the whole month's data will imply.
