20071223 report

CW & CCW inclinometry OK

Inclinometry was performed as follows:

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20071125 88.8 cw ~08:00 2.2 2.7 3.5 20
    20071125 88.8 ccw ~10:45 3.5 4.1 4.6 16 )
    20071223 89 cw ~07:30 0.7 0.8 1.0 75
    20071223 89 ccw ~07:30 1.0 1.6 2.4 75

Data is recorded from the 3 active inclinometers and one of the two strain gauge channels. The LT trace is abnormally low, so the RT data is used to correct LX & LY. TY is also +1000mV on average and a tweak to the elevation used is necessary (web page instructions amended 20071230).

  • The differences between the (CW) model derived from these new data and the previous model of 25 Nov are shown below:

  • The rms scatter in the differences in (F1,F2,F3) are (0.31", 0.42", 0.41") cf (0.59", 0.78", 0.65") previously.

  • The difference between the CW and CCW models is shown below:

. . . and is of the 'small amplitude' type seen regularly this year.

The CW-CCW data were used to generate a hybrid track model, installed at ~HST 11:00 on 24 Dec 2007.

The symmetry remains OK; strain gauge data show a little increase in loads.
