20080209 report

CW inclinometry OK

Inclinometry was performed as follows:

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                          start start middle end %
  ( 20071223 89 cw ~07:30 0.7 0.8 1.0 75
    20071223 89 ccw ~07:30 1.0 1.6 2.4 75 )
    20080209 89 cw ~21:30 3.6 3.4 3.2 25

Data is recorded from the 3 active inclinometers and one of the two strain gauge channels. The LT trace is again abnormally low, so the RT data is used to correct LX & LY. The tweak to the elevation applied after the last run has worked OK in bringing the average value of TY back close to zero.

  • The differences between the (CW) model derived from these new data and the previous model of 23 Dec are shown below:

  • There are slight (1") systematic changes since last time, and one or two small-scale features of amplitude 1"-2" whose reality must be assumed for now. The rms scatter in the differences in (F1,F2,F3) are (0.32", 0.41", 0.48") cf (0.31", 0.42", 0.41") previously.

  • The CW-CCW data from last time were used to generate a hybrid track model, installed at ~HST 11:30 on 11 Feb 2008.

The symmetry remains OK; strain gauge data show a little increase in loads, but nothing unusual.
