20090508 report

CW/CCW inclinometry updated

08 May 2009

A full cw/ccw inclinomtey run was performed on May 2nd and the new track model installed on May 4th.

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                              start start middle end %
   (20090412 89 cw 07:00 -1.0 0.1 0.4 25
    20090412 89 ccw 08:45 0.4 0.8 1.3 40)
    20090502 89 cw 07:45 7.2 7.6 7.6 4
    20090502 89 ccw 09:30 7.6 8.1 8.8 5

The new data are recorded from the 3 active inclinometers and one of the two strain gauge channels.

  • The differences between the (CW) model derived from the new data and data taken on 12th April are shown below:

  • The resulting rms scatters in the differences in (F1,F2,F3) are (0.54", 0.79", 0.28") cf. (0.65", 0.68", 0.89") last time.

  • The CW-CCW profile is normal, and is used to generate a hybrid track model which was installed on the 4th May 2009.

  • The symmetry and the strain gauge data for the one remaining channel looks generally as expected. However the load on the wheels shows another drop, raising a flag especially on wheel 4 where the loading is as low as it has ever been. This is likely corrected by an adjustment of the central bearing.
