20090826 Report
RxA pointing model update
SCUBA2 went back onto the telescope last week (19th August) which required a central bearing adjustment, followed by a full inclinometry run (see 20090820). These adjustments required a new pointing model before science could be resumed.
The weather was extremely poor on night of the 19th with opacity well into band 5. Attempts at a continuous pointing run were hampered by repeated closures of the telescope due to high humidity. Eventually we managed to install a model of poor quality with the knowledge that it would be improved as soon as the weather allowed.
For this first model, 24 data points were used, collected over a period of ~5 hours in highly unstable conditions.
A full 7-parameter fit with TPOINT was carried out, giving residuals (dS,dZ) of 1.44", 1.88" respectively.

This model installed on 20th August at ~05:30 (HST).
Just 2 nights later on Friday 21st (HST) stable grade 4 weather allowed 45 data points to be collected with which to produce a more robust model.
The TPOINT fit gave residuals (dS,dZ) of 2.09", 1.80" respectively.
