20090831 report

CW/CCW inclinometry updated

31 August 2009

A routine inclinometry run was carried out this weekend. As the first since the night following the engineering work it'll be interesting to see how everything has settled down.

Datasets El Dirn HST mean leg temperatures Humidity
                              start start middle end %
   (20090819 89 cw 16:00 11.4 11.9 11.8 17
    20090819 89 ccw 18:45 11.8 11.4 11.0 35)
    20090829 89 cw 05:45 7.1 7.0 7.2 90
    20090829 89 ccw 08:30 7.2 7.8 8.4 60

The new data are recorded from the 3 active inclinometers and one of the two strain gauge channels. all channels look normal.

  • The differences between the (CW) model derived from this run and the previous run on 19th August are shown below.

  • The resulting rms scatters in the differences in (F1,F2,F3) are (0.44", 0.36", 0.31") compared to (0.68", 0.48", 0.46") last time.

  • The CW-CCW profile is normal, and is used to generate a hybrid track model which was installed on the 31st August at 09:30.

  • The respective loadings on the wheels remains relatively stable, although for the first time it is wheel 1 rather than wheel 4 which shows the lowest loading (see strain gauge data).
