990111 report

CCW inclinometry

SUMMARY
One CCW inclinometry run was obtained (with the doors closed). The agreement between the CW and CCW data taken on this day is better than the agreement between the last such data taken on 980820.

Datasets HST start mean leg temperatures Humidity
                                    start middle end %

   inc990108 (closed) 00:20 3.4 3.1 3.1 65 )

Shown below left are the CW-CCW differences in the data channels used in constructing the track model (ie Chs 1, 2, 5, 8 = TX, TY, LY, RY), and below right similar data from 980820 :

The difference plot shows structures of size up to 2", coincident with the track segmentation, as has been seen before . The forms of the differences are similar but the new data is generally of lower amplitude. This may also reflect the lack of symmetry at the earlier date, as shown in the symmetry plot . The rms scatters in each channel confirm this improvement :

rms Ch 2 = TY
rms Ch 5 = LY

Conclusion

  • The CW-CCW agreement has improved since the last such measurements, coincident with the general improvement in symmetry.
