990228 report

New Inclinometry - minimal change since last time (990107)

SUMMARY
After a gap of 52 days, and a plague of problems, a new set of inclinometry was achieved. (Thanks to all who restored the system to full health). The difference between these data and those of 990107 are minimal. The good symmetry persists, and we must hope that this has been the case throughout.

We note also that the the data were taken "with only two carousel motors running, so the carousel was lagging slightly behind the antenna" (RMP).

Datasets HST start mean leg temperatures Humidity
              (doors) start middle end %
   inc990107 (open) 21:15 4.5 4.1 3.7 60
   inc990228 (closed) 13:42 2.2 3.4 4.4 25

The difference between the model derived from these new data and the model of 990107 is shown below :

There is generally good agreement between the models with rms scatters in the (F1,F2,F3) differences of (0.63", 0.48", 0.62"); not brilliant, but not bad. 'Good' symmetry persists. The plot of these symmetry data is updated, as is the plot showing the amplitude and phase of the ripples in the right and left A-frame inclinometry data.

A new track model was installed on 990301.
