Levelling the inclinometer

Levelling the inclinometer

The DGH inclinometer units are secured to an aluminium base and may be adjusted in the X & Y directions by means of adjustment screws. You should ensure that the unit is secured on the frame with the Allen-screw-tightened lugs before making the adjustments. We have recently acquired a DGH Digital ReadOut box into which you can simply plug the DGH A/D units to get digital readouts from their three channels. Positive voltage from the X- or Y-axis indicates that the +ve end of the axis is low cf. the other end: adjust as necessary to bring the voltage to zero. Repeat for the other axis and iterate since there is some cross-talk.

In the absence of the DRO unit, use a multimeter and probe the top two connectors (+IN and -IN) on the DGH unit itself.

In the case of the inclinometer in the receiver cabin you may have to move the antenna in elevation to some preferred value before performing the levelling: (currently 88:47:00)
