Holography map Nov 5 1999 large scale errors
Large scale surface errors (Nov 5 1999)
Image of the large scale errors of the JCMT dish on November 5 1999. The
measurement was made between 23:00 and 1:00 when the dish was thermally relaxed.
The rms of the large scale surface errors is 10 microns. The dish was last adjusted on
October 7 1999. Since the rms of the surface errors increased only by a few microns
since early October, no adjustment to the surface was made on November 5.
Note however that the above map does not include
systematic errors from the holography system itself, or from imperfections of the
panels such as surface roughness and scalloping..
