Holography map Oct 7 1999 large scale errors
Panel fitted surface errors (Oct 7 1999)
Image of the total surface errors fitted to individual panels (October 7 1999). The
measurement was made between 05:15 and 07:15 hours in the early morning after an adjustment had
been made. During the last 15 minutes
of the measurement, the sun had risen above the ridge and was shining onto the dish.
Rms of the total surface errors, from holography, is 14.9 microns.
Note however that the above map does not include
systematic errors from the holography system itself, or from imperfections of the
panels such as surface roughness and scalloping..
