"Some Things We Don't Know About Galaxies"

ABSTRACT: "Amid a general sense that cosmology is "solved," there is still a large amount of uncertainty concerning when and how galaxies formed. From the perspective of the low surface brightness universe, I will argue that our ignorance is even greater than has been generally presumed. The census of galaxies is substantially incomplete for galaxies that are diffuse or unevolved or small. This incompleteness has substantial implications for cosmology."
