"Two topics in SCUBA data analysis: SCANMAPPING
the HDF and the UBC experience with 2 bolo chopping"
ABSTRACT: "We've recently completed a shallow survey of a 12x12
arcminute region centred on the HDF, with a 1 sigma sensitivity to pointsources
of about 5 mJy at 850 microns. Given the low S/N nature of the map, this
talk will start by describing the steps taken to extract pointsources.
After commenting on the 850 source counts at the bright end, I'll discuss
some of the followup work we are presently engaged in. The last 5-10 minutes
will be used to describe the success our group has had using the "two-bolometer"
choping mode in SCUBA photometry observations. I'll present a "before
and after" list of objects where we have folded in the flux from the
off-beam that chops onto the source. Although the gains in sensitivity
are small, we find that they are consistent with what one would expect."
