"Medium-sized telescopes in the era of giants"

ABSTRACT: "Changes in the scientific and technical operation at the Calar Alto observatory are presented which have been introduced as a reaction to the migration of many observing programmes from 4m- to 8m-class telescopes.  The involvment of Calar Alto in Opticon/COMET will be presented as well."
