"The importance of CI lines: a new
molecular gas mass tracer"
ABSTRACT: "I will describe recent theoretical and observational
work that demonstrates that the sub-mm lines of atomic carbon
at 492 and 809 GHz are equally good and even better tracers
of H2 gas mass than the standard CO lines. The science and
sociology of why we missed that for so long will be presented,
as well as the prospects at high redshifts."
