CI as a new H2 mass tracer: the case for Ultra Luminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs)
ABSTRACT: I will discuss recent results that show the CI J=1--0 line at
492 GHz
to be a potent and even better H2 gas mass tracer than
12CO, 13CO
especially at ULIRGs. Implication about gas mass tracing
in the high-z
Universe will be briefly discussed.
