Galaxy clustering in the 2dF galaxy redshift survey
ABSTRACT:
The 2dF galaxy redshift survey has taken spectra and obtained redshifts
for 220,000 galaxies in the local (z<0.3) Universe, allowing the statistics
of galaxy clustering to be studied in detail. I will briefly review the
2dFGRS, before focussing on the observed galaxy clustering. The
concordance cosmological model (Universe = 5% baryons, 25% dark matter and
70% dark energy) was developed by combining results from galaxy clustering
with data from CMB experiments. I will discuss how our latest analyses of
the 2dFGRS affect this model.
