"The Formation and Evolution of High-Mass Protostars"

ABSTRACT: Many questions remain regarding the formation and evolution of massive stars, and a definite evolutionary sequence continues to elude us. In this talk I will present a sample of HMPOs that may represent just such a sequence. After outlining the work carried out to identify a number of evolutionary indicators, I will discuss how the JCMT can be used to confirm the evolutionary status of these young, high-mass sources.
