"First Results from the Parkes HI Multibeam Surveys"

ABSTRACT: "At the beginning of 1997, the Parkes 64m antenna was outfitted with a 13-element multibeam receiver operating at 20cm. Since that time, the multibeam system has been engaged in a number of major "blind" surveys, including an all-southern sky HI survey, a zone-of-avoidance HI survey, a pulsar survey, and deep surveys of the Centaurus and Sculptor clusters. In this talk, I shall describe the multibeam system, the survey strategies, and some of the early results to emerge from these surveys."
