BRIGHT AND FLAT-SPECTRUM STANDARDS FOR RATIOING AT 10 AND 20 MICRONS

This is a list of bright IR stars for ratioing 10 and 20um low and medium resolution spectra.

At low and medium resolution stars of spectral type K0 and earlier have smooth spectra and effectively no SiO fundamental band, which in later type stars can extend from 7.5um to 10um. Their spectra also should be smooth in the 20um band. Hence they can be used for ratioing both at 10um and 20um.

The stars of spectral type K1-K5 also are suitable for ratioing low-medium resolution 20um spectra. However, these stars will have SiO bands in the short wavelength half of the 10um window, and hence are (progressively with spectral type) less suitable for ratioing 10um spectra.

To summarize:
Stars of spectral type K0 and earlier are suitable for 10um and 20um.
Stars of spectral type K1-K5 are suitable only for 20um.

Coordinates (2000) and V magnitudes are from the Bright Star Catalogue. IR magnitudes are from the literature.
