The ompobslog window is divided into the following sections:

Rescan
obslog generates its list of observations by reference
to the headers of received files. It does this automatically every 5 minutes;
to force it to do it now, click this button.
Dump Text
Produces an ASCII file of the observations list
Options
Currently switch userid, switch telescope, and switch
UT date
Instrument Tabs
One per instrument used in the night so far. Just
click to switch to another instrument's log window.
Logging Window
Contents
Different for each instrument, but showing observation
numbers, group identifications, basic instrument parameters, airmass and timing.
Shift Comment Entry Box
Time Stamp
This time will be added to any comment you enter
Text box (at bottom)
Text field for entry of comments. The shift comments
are stored separately and represent a record of events you don't want to associate
with any given observation - for example "sky looking locally good, but cirrus
on the horizon"
View all button
Pops up a window showing all shift comments to date.
Submit button
Submits the contents of the text field as a new shift
comment.
