Meals

The conference registration fee includes breakfasts as well as morning and afternoon coffee. You will need to make your own arrangements for lunch and dinner (see the Local Information page for suggestions). On the Wednesday evening there will be a conference banquet.

Banquet

On the Wednesday evening there will be a conference banquet in the style of a Hawaiian lu`au. The price is $50 per person.

The Waikoloa Beach Marriott - an Outrigger Resort's Lu`au is not just a feast but an experience of the music, art and dance of Polynesia. As the sun sets over Anaeho`omalu Bay, torches are lit on the hotel's historic grounds. An ancient chant welcomes all to witness the opening of the "imu", the underground pit where a whole pig has been cooking all day. Served along with the kalua are traditional lu`au foods as well as familiar favorites from salads to tempting desserts. Following dinner the audience is taken on a lyrical journey through Polynesia with the music and dance of Hawai`i, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa, including the spellbinding Samoan fire-knife dance.

Other events

We are arranging an optional Afternoon Snack Snorkel Cruise from Fair Wind Cruises. The cruise will take place on the afternoon of Thursday, March 18th. The cost will be $52 for the cruise and $10 for the bus round-trip from the hotel to Kailua-Kona. If you would like to go on the cruise, please specify this on your registration form and include the charge in your total payment.

We are also considering arranging a Mauna Kea summit tour. Please let us know if you are interested on your registration form.
