NGC 6891

A true colour near-infrared image of a dying star

NGC 6891 is another planetary nebula, whose detached outer layers of hot gas and dust and central white dwarf are clearly visible in this three-colour composite UFTI image. See our pages on IC 348 and NGC 3132 for more information on Planetary Nebulae.
