UKIRT's first light-weight polystyrene instrument lands in Hilo!
Only joking, of course! The above photo shows the ETS lads practicing
with a model of the Wide-Field Camera, WFCAM, in the car park behind
JAC. WFCAM will be mounted on the UKIRT primary mirror. A new fork-lift,
being driven here by Nash Kobayashi (while Neal Oliveira and Vernon
DeMattos look on), will be used to lower WFCAM into the hole in the
primary where it will be secured in place for observations.
