A total of 73 refereed journal publications acknowledging UKIRT data were published in 2000. Some papers contain data contributed by more than one instrument on UKIRT; in such cases the contributions of the instruments are taken as equal.

Figure 7 shows the number of publications per year, as well as weather and fault loss statistics per semester, over a 10 year period. The number of publications increased from 1991 to 1996, following the commissioning of CGS4 in 1991, and the upgrade of both CGS4 and IRCAM to larger-format InSb arrays in 1994. The dip in the number of publications in 1995 is probably related to the bad winter of 1992. UKIRT's fault loss rate has been consistently below 5%, except for the winter of 1997 when slightly higher losses were caused by problems with a visitor instrument.
