The UKIRT service observing programme

At the present time we are accepting service projects for semester 2010A (submitted in the normal way through Northstar). New Service projects will be assessed and reviewed at the start of each month, and incorporated (strictly by priority and by service time availability) into an observing night as soon as possible thereafter. For more details of the model, please consult the introduction to UKIRT Service here.

For the foreseeable future, only WFCAM will be available.

UKIRT's instruments are described in the main instrument pages (please note that when WFCAM is on the telescope, the cassegrain instruments are not available, and vice versa).

If you require more than 4 hours of telescope time, please consult the guidelines for submitting a full PATT proposal.
Please Acknowledge the UKIRT Service Observing programme in all publications that include service data.

WFCAM DATA: All WFCAM Service PIs MUST register their own projects with the WFCAM Science Archive (WSA). Note that WFCAM data are (usually) only available through the WSA. Full registration information is available here (WSA refer to service programmes as "non-survey"). You can register as soon as your programme has been accepted by the service observing programme.
