ADDENDUM  13

 

SAFETY FLOOR SIGNAGE

The following are safety hazard floor signs used at the JAC and their meanings. If on encountering any warning sign that you do not understand, do NOT pass the sign; retreat to a safe place and contact the TSS/WL for safety instruction.

 


DANGER – OVERHEAD HAZARD


The DANGER header is used where an imminent hazard has a high probability of causing serious injury or death. Hard hats are required and staff/visitors shall check with the WL/TSS for further details and restrictions.

WARNING – HARD HAT AREA


The WARNING header is used to identify situations where a potential hazard could cause serious injury or death. Hard hats are required in the posted area and
staff/visitors shall check with the WL/TSS for further details and restrictions.

CAUTION – WET FLOOR


The CAUTION header is used where minor or moderate injury can occur. Staff/visitors shall be mindful of the wet slippery floor area and take necessary precautions.

SAFETY CONES 


Used to mark hazardous areas and alert staff/visitors to hazards. Staff/visitors shall check with the WL/TSS for further details and restrictions.

DANGER – OPEN LOADING HATCH (JCMT specific)


The DANGER header is used where an imminent hazard has a high probability of causing serious injury or death. Staff/visitors shall stay clear of the open loading hatch. Staff using the hatch must use proper fall protection.

CAUTION – INCLINOMETRY IN PROGRESS (JCMT specific)


The CAUTION header is used where minor or moderate injury can occur. Staff/visitors shall be mindful that the antenna and carousel will move at times and they shall not access the antenna.
