Near misses in which injury was avoided only by good fortune
must also be reported to the Site Safety Advisor. Any other incidents in
which remedial action could improve safety should be reported to the supervisor

guidance and assistance when seeking workers' compensation benefits. The
JAC will attempt to provide light duty or alternative work assignments

Prompt and accurate reporting of work-related injuries/illnesses is a necessary
component of effective accident prevention programs.
This
information is used in evaluating and controlling hazards, fulfilling mandatory
recordkeeping requirements, and providing workers' compensation benefits.
Workers' compensation reporting forms will be used to collect information

3. Non-Attendance at Work Caused by Natural Disasters - JAC Policy
Staff are expected to make all reasonable efforts
to attend work during inclement weather conditions. However, special paid
leave may be granted to a member of staff who is prevented from attending
work because of flooding or other natural disasters. Applications for special
leave should be addressed to the Human Resource Manager.
In addition it has been agreed that when Civil
Defense warnings are issued instructing people to stay off all roads, then
staff will not be expected or required to attend work and there will be
no loss of pay. Exceptionally, where the instruction limits the number
of roads closed then those staff unaffected by the closures or warnings
should attend work in the normal way. Staff will also be expected to attend
after any instruction to keep off roads is lifted, provided this occurs
by 2:00 p.m. Alternately staff have the option of taking annual leave.
Any enquiries about this policy should be directed
to the Human Resource Manager.
