Terms of Reference for the JAC Safety Committee :
- To advise the Director JAC of all matters affecting the health and safety of those who work at the establishment, including visitors and contractors.
- To study accident statistics and trends, so that reports can be made to management on unsafe and unhealthy conditions and practices, together with recommendations for corrective action;
- To consider and advise on reports and factual information provided by inspectors of the enforcing authorities;
- To consider and advise on reports submitted by safety representatives, e.g., accident investigation reports;
- To assist in the development of work safety rules and safe systems of work;
- To consider the effectiveness of the health and safety content of employee training;
- To consider the adequacy of safety and health communication and publicity in the work place.
